Iconic Figures and Nostalgia

In her pieces like "Snow Bunny" and "Celestial Freestyle Astronaut Skier with Boombox," Taylor reimagines pop culture icons to evoke personal memories and cultural reflections. "Viewers often engage deeply with familiar icons exactly because they evoke personal memories, emotions, or cultural references," she explains. Her works leverage these collective symbols to comment on contemporary issues like consumerism and identity politics, making each piece both playful and thought-provoking.

Taylor's use of bold colors and recycled materials, such as floppy disks and vintage advertisements, creates a unique visual experience that mirrors the complexity of memory and environmental change. "These disks, once vessels of information and memory, now serve as the canvas for my paintings," she says. Through her art, Taylor addresses the fragility of memory and the enduring impact of technology on our lives, all while emphasizing the importance of environmental stewardship.
